It has been way too long since I last
posted. I've been keeping up with my classroom website through my district but
I have definitely been neglecting this blog.
I thought I'd
post a little bit about how we are going to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King
Jr.'s birthday in my Kindergarten class.
I found some lovely poems online that I turned into large charts with pictures of Dr. King. These will be part
of our workboard for the next two weeks. The children will read them and also
illustrate them in their poetry journals.
I also want to make a connection
between our class rules and the ideals that Dr. King put forth so that my
kinders can see that even though they are young, they can still honor him in a
big way. I’m interested to see where this conversation goes!
